Waste-to-Energy

Designing DeNOx systems for Waste-to-Energy boilers presents challenges due to the variable composition of the fuel source. These variations result in fluctuating temperature and flow characteristics within the boiler’s flue gas, necessitating an adaptable DeNOx system. Additionally, the elevated concentration of volatile compounds in the flue gas poses a risk of potential damage to internal components.

Flowvision are highly experienced in designing robust DeNOx-system for the harsh conditions in a Waste-to-Energy boiler, while maintaining the high NOx-reductions that is required with the ever-increasing emission limits. Flowvision has achieved NOx-reductions up to 80% on Waste-to-Energy boilers with the SNCR technology and up to 96% with SCR.

Flowvision can provide a wide range of DeNOx SCR solutions for WTE plants. The most common ones are Low-dust and Tail-end systems.

As Most of the plant owners prefer to run tail-end SCR system at the temperatures between 150-220°C, a risk of ammonia bi sulphate (ABS) formation will always be present. For these situations, Flowvision can also offer a dedicated online catalyst regeneration system utilizing duct burners or steam coils, including all necessary accessories.

Flowvision has also SNCR application for WTE, with advanced temperature monitoring systems that to ensure that the reagent is dosed exactly at the optimal temperature and flow conditions. This feature further adds to the flexibility of our SNCR systems and allows for even higher reduction rates.
